Is my HIV tests conclusive

Hi Guys,

So basically. I had unprotected oral sex and protected vaginal sex with a stripper in Nigeria. She insisted I use a condom. Really good considering I was drunk and almost forgot to put one on.

I had a 5 week rapid finger prick test 3rd gen Hiv1/2 = negative

Then at 42 days I had an Elisa and PCR DNA and PCR RNA = all negative

Then at 45 days I had the 4th Gen duo hiv1/2 + p24 antigen as well as PCR RNA = all negative.

My physician and general practitioner say that it is conclusive and I should move on with my life as there was no real risk.

I just want closure.

Please help!!

Your test covered hiv-2. You are fine! Most experts would say your tests are conclusive at this point and I agree with them, however, more a more conservative approach would say to have a final test at 3 months. I HIGHLY recommend getting off the internet and not seeking any further reassurance regarding these tests, as that will only fuel your anxiety. Trust the tests, your doctors and what people here are telling you and do your best to stay busy and enjoying life. Do not get trapped into the hiv worry spiral. Take care and congrats on your negative results!

Your tests cover HIV 2 too.As I said earlier, your risk never existed, so whenever you will get yourself tested. your result will come back Negative

Thank you for your feedback. I am already feeling better. My main concern was HIV-2 as Nigeria is a HIV-2 region. Im not sure if 6 weeks would be good enough to detect HIV-2. What are your thoughts?

With unprotected oral and protected vaginal, you were never at HIV risk. However you got those tests done, which also indicate that you do not have HIV. Believe in what your doctor says, your tests are conclusive, you do not have HIV.
