Oral Sex and PEP

Hello there.
I had oral sex about 2 weeks ago, I gave a blow job to a guy, he finished but there was no semen in my mouth, he came on his hand.
After that I remembered that early morning that day when I brushed my teeth, there was a bit of red kind of blood just a bit, "I gave the blow job about 5 hours after brushing" But still I was very worried, and the day after I went to the clinic, I told them my scenario and the I expressed that I was very worried the nurse told me I was not a high risk but it was kind of risky since I did not know the guy, and therefore didn't know his status.
They put me on PEP.

My questions, was PEP  necessary?, was my risk that high?, should I continue with PEP?. I still have tow weeks to go on PEP.

You were not exposed to the risk, so no question of PEP, you are fine

You didnt have a risk in the first place and definitely didnt need PEP. Oral sex carries no risk of hiv infection.

To start and to stop PEP is a major decision taken by a doctor after assessing the patient face to face. Suggest you go back to the person who gave you PEP and talk it over.

Thank you so much for you answer, I would go back and check with my doctor, tho I have been advice by a LGBT health person in my community center that it's good that I was out on PEP, since it was a very risky situation.
Now I am confused.
I'd like to have some clrarity to this, maybe the guild lines are different her in NYC.?
