Scared to death

About 5 weeks ago I had unprotected vaginal sex with a female college student. About 3 and a half weeks ago I started to develop symptoms of possible infection. First I will list off the symptoms I experienced:

The first symptom that came along was discomfort with urination and frequent need to urinate. It wasn't a full burning sensation while the urine was flowing but it constantly felt as if I needed to go even when I didn't. Also after ejaculation there was slight discomfort as well. As if there was still some that had gotten stuck inside.

I went to the doctor and they took urine samples and tested for possible urinary tract infection and STDs (chlamydia, gonnorhea, trich). All cultures came back negative. However the doctor gave me doxycycline to take. He said that there may be a minor infection of ureaplasma that did not get detected by the tests.

Then I started to noticed red rash like bumps around my genital area, Inner thighs groin area. There was slight discomfort in that area but nothing that was really painful.

I have read that genital herpes can sometimes cause urinary issues like this and was beginning to think that this may be the cause.

With all that being said I have been feeling a great deal of anxiety trying to figure out what is going on. I find myself constantly looking for symptoms and signs. I have noticed that the lymph nodes in my neck are swollen. This has been the greatest concern for me because I have read that this is a sign of HIV early infection. I also have slight lower abdominal pain. I have also experienced occasional feeling tired and lightheaded. I have had no fever or headache. No rash other than the small spots around my groin.

It has now been 5 weeks since my exposure to unprotected sex. I am truly just scared to death at the thought that it could possibly be HIV. Do these sound like HIV symptoms or could the lymph nodes be do to a different infection? Could the slight tiredness be due to a different infection or anxiety?

Please help
Thanks

For the symptoms, if they persist, talk to your doctor again.

For HIV, you had unprotected sex, a HIV 3 month test is warranted.

We don't discuss symptoms because HIV has no specific symptoms and won't tell you anything about your status.

These are symptoms of HIV? I am so freaked out. My doctor originally said that there was no reason to worry at all about HIV, that these were not symptoms. Also this person that I had unprotected sex said that she did not have any std's. Obviously that is just her word. But is this all reason to be so worried? The tiredness that I am feeling is also slight. It only seems to come about when I am thinking about it. However, when I am working out I am ok. Also could these sign be just do to other infection or possible herpes?

You did put yourself at risk of contracting HIV. You can obtain your conclusive negative test 3 months post exposure.
