Colombia fun....help me clear my head

I'm obviously obsessive compulsive when it comes to this kind of question....there are tons of answers here already. But a bit of personal response would help me.

Net/net, I had sex twice with a Colombia sex worker. She had condoms but i couldn't keep one on. We had unprotected sex twice. I got tested at 5 weeks for everything under the sun, HIV included. All came back negative.

I am going to see a potential girlfriend in the next few days. I have been retested again (8 weeks now) but won't get the results til later.

Am I overly paranoid about HIV here...having it and potentially giving it to another?

Thanks much

Drinking and whoring- bad combination. No specific laws against combining the two activities, but there probably should be.

More like too drunk for conventional condoms. I like gin too much.

You're in the right ballpark but as Vance indicated, you still had a risk. And your 5 week test result, while not conclusive, is definitely reassuring.

Not time don't be so cavalier about unprotected sex so you won't have to suffer through the uncertainty of having a risk. If you are too small for conventional condoms then buy a size that fits and bring your own.

I understand what you mean. I guess I'm trying to balance out my spinning head with some objective looks. You r right. Definitive is definitive. Period. But I guess, a lot of people, like myself, come here to seek comfort til that 3 month definitive has arrived. Numbers simply help to keep some sanity until then.

Say we start using percentages here, what heppens when you get the person who says my odds are too low, I have nothing to worry about and doesn't test but is positive. That person passes it on to someone else and then again and again. How irresponsible would the board be if we took part in something like that?

A risk is a risk and testing should be done. HIV is a deadly disease and not to be played around with. If Dr's feel comfortable doing percentages then they can. We are not Dr's and don't take the same approach as they do on that aspect. The specialists on this site know a lot more then myself so I am confortable when they give out numbers but I do not take that same comfort.

You don't deal with anything less than 100% certainity do you? :)

I'm coming up with 1 out of 2 mil chance based on the doc's math.

3 months post exposure is when you can obtain a conclusive negative test result.
