First of all, thank you to everyone on this site who takes time away from their lives to help others.
It is my understanding that a person can only contract HIV through unprotected vaginal/anal sex and IV drug usage.
Is this true, and is it always true regardless of other factors (i.e. the unknown presence of other illness like STIs, cancer, etc; the use of vaginal fluid or saliva for lubricant during masturbation; or abrasions, minor skin breaks and cuts on fingers, hands or genitals during contact)?
It's my understanding that HIV can only be transmitted inside the human body and cannot remain its infectious nature following a change in environment, but I just wanted to ask the question in such a way that covered basically every possible situation.
Again, thank you.
