Still anxious after test results anyone help?

Hello,

I had a protected oral and vaginal encounter about 90 plus days ago with a Caucasian female. I don’t know her status (was a body rub provider) hence my concern.

I’ve had the following test:
11 days - blood drawn at instacare
48 days - finger prick duo test
78 days - finger prick duo test
90 days - finger prick rapid test
92 days - finger prick duo test

Thankfully all test have been negative/non-reactive. I’m finding myself still anxious about testing windows and things I’m reading about 6 months, 1 year, etc.

I’m also afraid to pass anything to my partner due to this mistake. Can anyone advise this situation?

Thank you.

You never has a risk.  You used a condom, it is an effective barrier to HIV transmission. You didnt need any testing.

I suggest you to seek assistance for your anxiety. I feel, for a lot of people with no risk scenarios 2 major emotion starts prevailing post sex - guilt and doubt which futher leads to anxiety,  ocd,  paranoia.

Mind is very powerful,  it starts releasing chemicals that makes you believe that you have contracted the virus.  You visualise every thing that you read online, also the body syncs in with the mind, body starts exhibiting things that mind percieves. Then comes the testing chronology - You keep testing obsessively, starts questioning late sero conversion.  The whole thing is is viscious cycle.  It's a trap that you put yourself in.  The main culprit is the internet, you keep accesing information that has varied point of view and constantly relate it to your own self.

Save your self from the trouble, rationalise and accept,  you were protected and HIV is not your problem.

Pavan1 there is no need for you to hijack this thread since you have received advice on your own thread that your problem is not disease, it is anxiety. Your anxiety is a mental illness at this point so see a therapist instead of wasting your time trying to find therapy on a chat forum. this is an HIV forum and no one can provide therapy for you.  You didn't accept any of the advice on your own thread, so I am not sure why you are posting again anyway.
Sorry anxious it's not my intension I respect your suggestions but just want say improv3ling that I am also suffering like him after conclusive results
If you are still suffering then you should seek therapy to try to resolve it. An HIV forum is not a support group for anxiety sufferers.

Duo is conclusive after 28 days so you need to move on. We rely on the opinion of expert doctors, but you won't find consensus because some sites use outdated guidelines. No one here can get into a debate about every site you find, since the experts already did the work for us and chose 4 weeks.

Thank you for answering so quickly. For my own edification is there info on the 28 day conclusiveness?

Do doctors respond on this site or is it all community based? I’m just trying to understand the basis and info that may be provided here.

I know it’s my anxiety, but am trying to be fully educated is all. Thank you for your help.

Doctors left long ago but we rely on their advice so you really get their advice when you ask a question on this moderated forum.
Not sure how much instruction you feel will be a benefit, since you don't ask for instruction on any other medical blood test or  look at the manual for an X ray machine when you get that done.
This is not a biology instruction forum, and is restricted to HIV prevention.  Since people asking for information don't have any medical training it is best to ask doc for the finer details of how the test works.
Appreciate the info and your response/logic that make me realize my own over thinking.

Last question, do you know if the duo/combo tests are reliable whether they are finger pricks or blood drawn.

Basically it sounds like there is a rapid (finger prick) combo test and a blood combo test? These are the same?
I wanted to add that Dr. Google causes so much angst.
Any test is conclusive after 12 weeks so you are good. The first step to peace is to quit googling cold turkey, otherwise you are in denial and have doubts which Google will feed on.
Besides, I just noticed that you had zero risk. All your tests were a waste of time.
HIV is instantly inactivated in air and also in saliva which means it is effectively dead so it can't infect from touching, external rubbing or oral activities. It doesn't matter if you and they were actively bleeding or had cuts at the time either because the HIV is effectively dead.
Only 3 adult risks are the following:
1. unprotected penetrating vaginal with a penis
2. unprotected penetrating anal sex with a penis
3. sharing needles that you inject with. Knowing these 3 are all you need to know to protect yourself against HIV. The situation you describe is a long way from any of these 3.
Even with blood, lactation, cuts, rashes, burns, etc the air or the saliva does not allow inactivated virus to infect from touching, external rubbing or oral activities. Doctors have calculated the risk from what you describe to be less than that of being hit by a meteor, therefore no one will get HIV from what you did in the next 40 years of your life either. The above HIV science is 40 years old and very well established, so no detail that you can add to your encounter will change it from zero risk.
Thanks for the additional info. To clarify I was scared because I did not know this persons status. They also offer “body rubs” so it was those unknowns that scared me.

Again I used a condom both when she gave me oral sex and vaginal penetration.
her status doesn't matter,  you protected yourself and have tested negative multiple times. time to move on from your worries.
Since oral is zero risk there was no need for a condom for that, btw.
