Tattoo, Biotin Hiv Test

Got a tattoo from a private artist that got infected. Saw him use and pour new cups for inks, saw him open 2 new needles but missed seeing him open the 3rd one. I was the very first client at 9am. Got a HIV 4th Gen LAB test at 35 days and 43days. Both negative, however I was taking 2.5mg of biotin on the 35day test and 43day test. On the 43day test, the day before I may have consumed 2.5mg morning and 2.5mg right before bed at 10pm. I had my test the next day at 4:40pm. With 1.25mg at 9:30am and 1.25mg at 3pm. I feel like HIV would have been dead, by the time I was tattooed, and curious to know if Biotin would have affected my results, and need to get retested. Thx again.

The artist is obviously not re-using needles. There would be no reason for him to expose himself to the liability of re-used needles, and seeing him open 2 new ones demonstrates that. Even if he did re-use a needle, there wouldn't be anything active on it, considering you were the first appt of the day. Still, it's not really rational to think that he's re-using needles.

The only concern is biotin in an amount >5 mg in a 24-hour period. Your first test, you definitely didn't have that much, and that test was conclusive - ESPECIALLY considering that you did not, realistically, have any risk at all.

thank you for your response. Curious though, as I actually dont fully remember, but had I taken 2.5mg the night prior to the first test on top of the 2.5mg taken on the same day in the morning. Would this cause a significant effect on the results of the test? As I read many forums that biotin has no effect on lab tests at anywhere up to 10mg, but can affect POC tests. Thx again
The advice was straightforward.
This is not a biotin test center, and since you've read many other forums, it is unlikely that you will ever be satisfied with any advice.
....it is unlikely that you will ever be satisfied with any advice, including the most important, that you had ZERO risk for hiv anyway, since it would be dead.
If you can't get past this, take a test without having taken biotin, but this is a super unrealistic scenario that involves irrational thinking.
Fair enough. Thank you all again for your help.
