ya sometimes mind play with us..
Its time to educate people...thanks guys.. .
We try, day in and day out, but, like with you...people just refuse to listen. They just will NOT open their minds at all and realize the problem is 99% anxiety.
Atlast ...
I did my rapid testing after 15 weeks...Negative...
I want to say sorry to all specially to Teak for indulging in arguments which I shuld not have done....
Its time to educate people...thanks guys..
We feel more comfortable to giving the correct information from the manufacture and the FDA approval.
Example: Oraquick Home test kit, just approved 7/12

Warnings & Precautions
A positive result with this test does not mean that you are definitely infected with HIV, but rather that additional testing should be done in a medical setting.
"A negative result with this test does not mean that you are definitely not infected with HIV, particularly when exposure may have been within the previous 3 months."
If your test is negative and you engage in activities that put you at risk for HIV on a regular basis, you should test regularly.
This product should not be used to make decisions on behavior that may put you at increased risk for HIV.
You know what we all know the fact...but we will have to follow the "OFFICIAL" guidelines...and put people one more day of f**king fear....u wont understand the feelings of a person going for HIV test.. .
We don't make the guidelines, we just follow them, so I'm not quite sure why you're directing your anger at US.
As for not knowing, I most certainly do. I've had a couple exposures in my 18 years of nursing, one that was fairly significant. I had to test out to TWELVE months because that's what my employer required for exposure protocol. So, please don't assume you know what I do and don't understand.
I dealt with it...I follow the instructions and handled it. We've already told you your test is unlikely to chage..you can decide for yourself if you want to test again or not...we're going to maintain that a follow up is needed at 3 months. Take it or leave it...you most certainly are not obligated to take our advice.
This thread is now CLOSED.
Our doctors, and many experts, feel that testing is conclusive earlier than 3 months. Since official guidelines set by testing manufacturers still say 3 months, many of our members feel more comfortable using 3 months, as they are not doctors.
It's entirely up to you. If you feel comfortable with our experts advice, then test and accept the results. If you'd rather, test at 3 months.
There is no need for endless debate on this.
Thanks!

I agree with you. but if you really want to feel better and be completely reassured...I would suggest a re-test. that way you know and its all good! stay well and the best of luck to you!
Your results won't change, take another test and collect another negative result.
You know what we all know the fact...but we will have to follow the "OFFICIAL" guidelines...and put people one more day of f**king fear....u wont understand the feelings of a person going for HIV test..
There you go..
THIS IS ONLY BECAUSE OF OFFICIAL GUIDELINES, PRACTICALLY EVERYONE GETS TESTED POSITIVE BY 8 WEEKS...
THIS IS THE FACT..
Correct ?
No, your test wasn't useless, it was a very good indication of your final result and highly unlikely to change. We adhere to the OFFICIAL guidelines for testing/window period.
You will find a lot of people who will say that it is not necessary to test out to 12 weeks. You have to make that decision for yourself, about when you will be satisfied with your result.
Our advice will not change.
Any response from anyone.?
That is not the point..point is ;- is my 9.5 weeks test is useless ?
What does that have to do with you? You were advised when to test, it's up to you.
Keep this aside please.
with due respect to you, can you show me one event where someone becomes +ve after 9.5 weeks negative result ?
You find a test that is approved to give a conclusive test result earlier than 3 months and you post it.

FDA aproved 7/12
Similarly, a negative test result does not mean that an individual is definitely not infected with HIV, particularly when exposure may have been within the previous three months. The test has the potential to identify large numbers of previously undiagnosed HIV infections especially if used by those unlikely to use standard screening methods.
That is not the issue here..I was jst asking that Dr.Hook has told/replied to so many people saying eight weeks in more than enough..and that is in THIS WEBSITE..
I don't care what other places say or do, this is a US Based Website and if you don't like the replies you recieve feel free to move on to another website.
For your kind information, there are so many countries who consider 6 weeks negative conclusive..how they can be that much sure if there was no fact?
I'm telling you to test again because there are no tests marketed or sold to give a conclusive negative test result earier than 3 months post exposure.
So, do you expect the 9.5 negative result to get changed in 12th week..and that is the reason you are asking me to test again..correct ?
Yeah there should, but that is life.
There should be uniformity in comments in the forum.. now tell me whom I should trust...?
