Please help assess risk

My situation

- Had hetro unprotected sex
- Circumcised penis
- Went to the hospital, doctor prescribed PEP.
- Started PEP 3 hr after the sex.
- Took PEP 28 days, properly on time
- Tested negative on day 28 at the hospital (forgot to ask what type of testing)
- Doctor set appointment to get tested again at 3 months per official guideline.

I am now on day 31.
Please help assess my risk.
Should I go back at month 3 or my test at 28 days is conclusive?

Thank you very much.

It isn't possible to answer your question without knowing what test you took.

Also, did you test 28 days after your last dose of PEP, or 28 days after the event? In any case, the type of test is very important.

Thank you for tour response.

I went look at the test paper.

It says Anti HIV ECLIA screening test.

Not sure if this means anything.

Also, the test was done 28 days post exposure.
It also says immunochromatographic Trie Line
That is likely a 4th generation test, but you would have to call the lab and ask to be sure.

You need to wait at least 28 days after your last dose of PEP before using that test to get a conclusive result.
Thank you very much.
That doctor is using outdated guidelines if he plans to test you at 3 months. Just do the duo at 28 then move on. Was the hetero sex vaginal or oral?
It’s vaginal.

Will do the test again 28 days post pep.

Anxiety is killing me.
Try not to think about it as much as you can. Even is she is positive, which most people aren't, it is almost impossible to get hiv when you take PEP, and the chances of female to male transmission are not high since the virus has to enter through the urethra and sort of get pushed down to infect. Is she a sex worker?
...the chances of female to male transmission are low since....
Hi again,

Just took another test on 28 Oct.
My last Pep was on 30 Sep

The result is negative.

I hope this is conclusive.
Could you please help confirmed.

Thank you very much.
Your test is conclusive. You don't have HIV and you should move on from this event.
