You never had an exposure.
HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.
HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug abusers
Mother to child
So basically it's inactive when it hits air?
It's good to know because I kept worrying about it even though I knew it was illogical.
HIV doesn't die it isn't alive. HIV is either active or inactive.
even if it was HIV positive blood from a high viral load person you are okay....HIV dies once its exposed to air, there is no chance of HIV to survive in that long time, in hot coffee cup and most important your mouth saliva will deactivate the virus.
So don't worry.
