Hiv test ????

I had unprotected sex for 1 minute vaginal with a girl. I had an oraquick negative at 10 weeks. How comforting should this be? (I know all about the 3 months bs)

Did you even read the instructions that came with the test, there is no reason what so ever for you to be asking about the test. It's all in there.  Go get an ELIZA blood test if you are worried about a false negative.

Reread it, that is not what it says, it says;

"If you test within 3 months of possible exposure and the result is negative, you may want to repeat the test at least 3 months after the possible exposure."

Thank you. So that being said, when the oraquick websit says basically "this test only works beyond 3 months" it's just to follow guidelines and that isn't necessarily true? This post concludes my posting for a while...and nurse girl would you recommend a blood test for me or no? Bye, thank you all.

Because it's the manufacture's guideline for their tests. We don't need to go over this with you every 3 or 4 days

How soon should I get tested if I think I have been exposed to HIV?

The OraQuick In-Home HIV Test can give you accurate results 3 months from exposure. Most people will develop antibodies to HIV within this period of time.
If you test within 3 months of possible exposure and the result is negative, you may want to repeat the test at least 3 months after the possible exposure.

Ninety-seven (97) percent of people develop antibodies within the first 3 months after infection.

I just want to know if.....the oral swab test ONLY finds the virus AFTER 3 months.  NO.  A newly infected person will test + quite rapidly, within weeks of exposure.

if I paid 40 bucks for a bs test that made me happy for no reason....I took it at 10 weeks....negative...so that means nothing????  OF course it doesn't mean NOTHING.  Most doctors would call that conclusive, and for all intents and purposes, a 10 week negative would be good.  The chances of a negative changing to a positive between weeks 10 and 12 are about as close to zero as possible.

I've told you (many times) that the chances of you becoming infected with a ONE time very very brief heterosexual exposure was minute.  Add to that your 10 week negative, I'd safely say you don't have HIV IMO.  We always recommend testing out to 3 months post exposure, to adhere to the official guidelines.  If you choose to re-test you can, but I wouldn't be concerned at this point at all.

Means you aren't paying attention and asking the same questions over and over.

I just want to know if.....the oral swab test ONLY finds the virus AFTER 3 months. Let's throw the "conclusive" bs out the window, because I am highly pissed if I paid 40 bucks for a bs test that made me happy for no reason....I took it at 10 weeks....negative...so that means nothing????

Yeah dude your negative without a doubt but you still don't believe it like I didn't believe my 10 week oraquick so test again in 2 weeks and believe your result and seek mental health for your anxiety

So at 10 weeks that's a pretty good sign that I don't have hiv?

Dude I was the same as you but way worse and your result is extremely reliable but test again in 2 weeks just to get over your anxiety. Believe me I have a girlfriend of 3 years and I was thinking the same things you are but it's all anxiety dude.

Dude that test is reliable and it is extremely unlikely that your result will change in 2 weeks. I also took this same test at 10 weeks and it was negative and it was negative again at 12 weeks
