What do you think?

I have had unprotected sex with a homosexual male several times and have only come in contact with his semen once in April 2009 when my elbow accidently touched a bit of it. To my knowledge there was no open sore on my elbow. That was the only contact with it I've had. We've never done anal sex.

Now, I have noticed a couple of weeks ago a little cut on my hand that turned into a scab. Also a couple of weeks ago my gums started to bleed and the dentist gave me some antibiotics that cleared that up but a tiny amount of bleeding has started again now that I'm off the antibiotics. So I washed my mouth out with Listerine (antiseptic) which has burned my tongue and caused a white coating.

Do you think, from these symptoms that I have HIV? Of course, a test is in order anyway.

hiv is not transmitted in that manner.

Perhaps it's just the lack of emotion over the internet. I apologise for being accusing you of being rude. It just seemed as though your answers were a bit demeaning when all I wanted was an explanation and justification. Sorry!

So you think that I have nothing to be worried about HIV-wise?

May I ask 1.) Why are you being rude with me? 2.) How do you know this info?

But the basics are: HIV can be transmitted in blood, semen, and I believe, pre-ejaculate. Tears and do not have enough virus in them to cause exposure. The exposure happens through transfusion of infected blood, or when a cut or tear in the skin or mucous membrane get covered with a fluid from an infected person.

hiv is transmitted through...

unprotected vaginal/anal intercourse
sharing iv drug works
mother to child

trivial cuts, scrapes, bumps, and bruises are not a means of hiv being transmitted.

hiv is rendered inactive once exposed to air...changes in ph.

that's 3 reasons...is that "enough" logic for ya?

I don't mean to flood or do anything against the site rules but can you explain the logic that I'm obviously missing?

If there was a scratch on my elbow that allowed for the HIV to get in ..........

If you had unprotected penetrative anal sex then you have had a risk, if not then you have never had a risk. Simple as that.

How is that confusing? When the other person ejaculated...it was never near me or on me...perhaps on himself. And I leaned in to hug him and my elbow touched a bit of it.

i'm confused ! !

first you state that you had unprotected sex several times
then it's... you only came in contact with his semen once
then it's your ELBOW?
