What's the chances of getting HIV from toothbrush sharing?

Hi,

My problem is, I had mistakenly used my uncle's(HIV infected) toothbrush for the last 5days. I work far from home, only be back once every 3 months. So, I barely remember where I put my stuff.

What worry me most, is after knowing the the toothbrush belongs to him. He used it 1-4hours before I used them. I worry that I may be infected in this way, as I do brush my teeth hard and cause my gum to bleed.

What's the chances of me getting the virus? I'm super worried. I know the virus can't be detected within days, where I have to wait 4-6 weeks before i could head to the lab to do a blood test. Please advise me.

Thank you.

Like lizzie lou said...zero.

You cannot get HIV from sharing toothbrushes, drinking from the same cup, etc etc...things like that.

You are just fine.
