Why four results?

Hi,

I recently had an operation and had a blood tst prior to shoulder surgery. I needed the details of the bllod tests for my doctors at home (I had the surgery a long way from home) for post-surgerycare. The blood test was very detailed and there was a "Special HIV" section at the bottom. No results were shown here, instead the word "Protected" ws there. I understand that, but what I don't understand, and wha worries me, it there were four lines for results on the blood test template. The looked like this:
HIV-1/HIV-2 - Protected
HIV-1/HIV-2 - Protected
HIV-1/HIV-2 - Protected
Method-1 - Protected.
The reason for my worry is I wonder if I produced a positive result on the first test and the other three were confirmation tests? I was never informed of any results before or following surgery, but if there is any doubt then I will go and get tested.
Any helps much appreciated.

Colin

Had they given you and HIV test they would have informed you of it. They aren't going to run an HIV test without your knowledge.

Let me try and be a little clearer. I asked for and recieved the blood tests I had before an operstion. There were numerous tests on the sheet under three headings: Haematology, oads of items under this one, Biochemistry, this had things like glucose and creatine below it. Each item had a score or test reults, e.h., Glucose - mg/dL - 106

And finally Speacial HIV. Under this section was:
HIV-1/HIV-2 - Protected
HIV-1/HIV-2 - Protected
HIV-1/HIV-2 - Protected
Method-1 - Protected.

I wondered why would there be four results? Why not just one, positive or negative?

Cheers,
