HIV anxiety

Dear Sir

This is with ref to my one and only sexual encounter outside my marriage of 10 years and that too with a professional sex worker in Uttar Pradesh, India on 20th May 2014. It happened because my friends pushed me into it and gave me a viagra 50 to reduce my inhibition etc.

The vaginal sex which was protected by a condom and i ejaculated in the condom with 2 mins and pulled out the erect penis along with the properly fitted condom filled with my semen. i then took off the condom properly and put on a fresh second condom and inserted again in the vagina of the female for 20 secs max and then again my fears started taking on my mind. i pulled out my erect penis along with the second condom out of the vagina and cautiously removed the condom again.

i then washed my penis etc with shampoo and water, and also did a water filling test on both the condoms for tear etc. which to my satisfaction was intact and no water came out of the used condoms.

As i am a hypochondriac and permanent negative thoughts cross my mind regarding my complete health since years now. have thought of cardiac, urological and various other complications on many occasions for very long time. Now i am always feeling that i may have got HIV or STD from the sex act detailed above.

As symptoms to whatever now I have started having itch below my naval and groin region and testicles with 3 - 4 days of my exposure

Have been searching  internet for all kind of information on the subject starting from probability, symptoms, tests etc.

You are kindly requested to advice me towards my chances of getting HIV or other STD from the act mentioned above.

Waiting for your reply.

Regards

Raj Kumar Singh

Dear Teak,

Thanks for your advice, I am sure i am not exposed while i was inside the vagina as i was covered by the condom always. but i am now worried that i may have got exposed to HIV or STD while changing the condom before penetrating again because i didn't wash my hands and my penis before changing the condom for second penetration.

And today after 6 days have seen a boil near the groin just on the side of the testicles next to the deep lower groin don't know if its a sore lymph node or a hair bump after aggressive washing of the area since days now.

the itching is decreased today, but this new boil or sore is making me mad and i am constantly thinking about the possibility of HIV exposure because i have read about the sore lymph node as initial signs of HIV.

pls help me on this again, i would be very grateful to you for your reassurance and advice.

Thanks

Raj

Work with a professional for your Hypochondria, you never had an HIV exposure.

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug users
Mother to child
