high anxitey over this still...

Hello!
new to this so bare with me! any who, i was curious as to why some doctors say 12 weeks is conclusive for an HIV test and than others tell you 6 months? i have had one at 2 weeks and 10 weeks..( since leaving bf). post any exposure! test was called : hiv screen 4th generation wrfx. came out negative! i was ready to move on after the crazyness but reading doctors says 6 months has really caused me some anxiety. My risk was high risk. My EX cheated on me and unfortunately gave me and sti ( how i found out he was cheating) now im not sure how many women he slept with but i know it was at least a couple.... and he was not using condoms with them or myself....

so what are my chances of me turning pos after my 12 week test? can i be confident that ill be truly neg? i dont have an immune prob, nor have i been treated for hep c or cancer!

-- also do i need to test out longer due to sti? i have been treated!

please help! thanks

Hi there whoever said 6months is total jerk okay ?

Trust me on this I have been there

You play this game of 6months then one thing will lead to another and you will struggle to let go of fear of HIV okay ?

Now listen to me get it listen to me right now !

The 4th generation test known as ag/Ab combo is conclusive  at 4weeks  read this again I said 4weeks . 28 days not 29 days I said 28 days ! Okay

There is no second window period none !

12 weeks is for antibody test. Okay ?

If you took pep only then maybe 4th generation test which you took goes to 12 weeks maybe just maybe .

But if you didn't take pep 4weeks 4th generation test is conclusive

You may read expert forum on medhelp type 4th generation combo and previous expert on medhelp say 4weeks .

Well listen you are HIV negative okay ? . 12weeks is enough of anxiety for you . Do not search HIV 6months ever again in your life

The 4th generation has antigen called the p24 antigen . Which is detectable as early as 2 weeks

So that test can never miss an infection never means never . Especially at 12 weeks . If by any chance you did not produce antibody by 12 week by a miracle . The antigen part will always be there and no you will not seroconert !

No pep 4weeks combo test conclusive known as ag/ab combo duo or antigen/antibody test some tests may not give separate p24antigen result so don't worry as long as those words are written ag/ab combo or antigen antibody then p24 is always included or 4th generation test

Now can you smile a little ? .have a coke from the fridge ? Maybe watch a nice movie for the night ? Relax that mind of yours never ever google 6months test that is old news and outdated period okay ? Feel better now ?

ugh see i tired!!! and they told me they cant dissucss what kind of test i got? so weird right? hmm mayube i can call my doc!
Well that's weird but still it doesn't mater because you took at 12 weeks so I guess who cares ?
Why call doc when
Kkk670 said your test is conclusive? Time to move on to do something interesting with your life instead of more analysis of HIV.

Wait a minute you took a test at 12 weeks also in just reading your post .

If so that's even more conclusive even the most consertive Cdc says that

Hey you need to take coke from the fridge and drink that now while reading this :) you are HIV negative !

Even if antibody test at 8weeks previous expert on medhelp say it's conclusive  .you may search that on google by typing "8weeks antibody medhelp hhh "

So for a start do not panic relax you are still negative even though for antibody they say 12weeks . 12 weeks is old news so relax this second

You can check for 8weeks antibody on medhelp by typing on google  they are old posts

But relax

If it says 4th generation then it's antigen and atibody test both so nothing to worry

So call the lab and just ask hey I took a test and just want to know if it was a antigen/antibody test

Or they say something like this ag/ab combo    Or ag/ab duo   Or antigen antibody test for HIV 1/2

Just ask was p24antigen included in test ? . They will say oh let me check the literature for you and maybe put u on hold ...

So just make the call but smile and relax keep calm

Just incase you really want to know about 6months

It was because of PEP which extremely extremely rare and back in the old days . Old information  that causes a delay and that also only for antibody test 3rd generation test

You took 4th generation test so you my friend are in a whole new planet !

/and ahh yes that myth about having weak immune diffecency I remember the days when I googled that .

Well no evidence ever that effects performance of 4th generation test which you took

Maybe cancer treatment can effect maybe but that also in theory !

Whatever it is who cares you took at 12 weeks

Oh boy you wasted 2months :)
