NO ANSWERS

I had a number of sexual encounters last year.  All involved protected sex plus uncovered oral both ways. One other encounter was received oral and prostate massage.  I haven't experienced the type of symptoms described as seroconversion apart from a sinus problem and a swollen eyelid (which could be anything else).  However I did get another problem a few weeks following which lasted in all 3 months.  This started as pain in penis tip and varied during this time with swelling in scrotum, mild pain in perineum area etc.  I took a 4th generation test at a GUM clinic at 9 weeks from most recent encounter and it came back negative for everything HIV and STDs.  Also checked out for prostate problems - again negative.

However, the problem I described cleared up to be replaced by neuropathy which a specialist diagnosed as a mild case of Guillaine Barre syndrome.  This lasted  about six weeks, cleared up but I am now experiencing a mild recurrence of GBS (I hope).   Any suggestions what could be causing my problem?

Quite frankly as far as HIV goes I only needed to read the first 2 lines of your post, you had protected sex.  There is no way you got HIV from this.  Not a hope in hell!!!

As lizzie lou stated this forum is HIV specific, I would recommend that you continue working with you GUM clinic or GP, its not HIV.

this forum is hiv specific and no one here should be trying to diagnose you.

as far as hiv is concerned...you never had a risk.  neither protected sex nor oral sex transmits hiv.

continue to work with your dr to find the cause...its not hiv
