got exposed to HIV virus 2 weeks ago

hello,
thanks for reading y question, I had brief unprotected anal sex (I was the top) with someone who told me he was negative, next morning he informed me that he was pos. I went to a clinic and startednPEP (Zidovudine, Lamidovudine and Epivir), the nausea and vomiting  has been really bad, also some diarrhea, but i am dealing with it. But today on day 17 of the Treatment I started running a low temperature, 37.5C / 99.6F, also i feel some enlarge nodes, that might have been there before, but not sure.
I am quite scared as the fever started sudden and with no other symptoms of illness. I know that the meds can cause you to run a fever, but I am scared that this might be seroconversion symptoms.
The clinic said that they will do the regular test and the PCR at the end of the 28 day cycle, but should I do a PCR elsewhere? will the fact that i am doing PEP affect the results of the PCR test if I do it mid cycle?
please help
Thanks

Thanks, do you think I should pay for a viral load - pcr test now. Or wait till the end of the 28 day treatment to get the free pcr test that the clinic offers?
