Dude, NO risk is NO risk. There is nothing anybody can do about your anxiety except telling you that
A) Your exposure was a no risk exposure. You don't have a chance to contract HIV from the exposure you mentioned.
B) Symptoms are very poor indicators of HIV.
Once you accept that you do not have HIV and probably google a little less about HIV symptoms, you would be fine.
As far as your enlarged lymph nodes are concerned, I can give you at least 15 diseases that can cause similar abnormality, but then this is not the forum for it. Here we talk about HIV and you DO NOT HAVE HIV.
Dude whatever. I though this was a sharing forum where people shared experiences, not lord it up over others just because they have better knowledge. You, teak and the rest know alot, yes, but I think you've lost the plot. You're here because you want to help, not tell people they're stupid. Please don't lose track of what you're here for, dont abuse your petty power and get off your ******* high horse.
Hi all, an update for the benefit of anyone following:
I developed PAINFUL swollen epitrochlear lymph nodes yesterday an went to the clinic today in a panic after reading the below info:
http://www.bmj.com/content/309/6968/1550.full
(to condense this, it says that enlarged epitrochlear nodes are a SIGNIFICANT marker for HIV)
I tested today (blood rapid, 3 weeks) and my results are negative. Nevertheless, I'm still scared, I've never had these nodes before and my doctor could not confirm whether or not they were lymph nodes or steatocystoma multiplex lumps). Rookie doctor, obviously.
At quite a loss now
For more detail: 2 swollen epitrochlear nodes (left elbow only, 2 days), diarrhea (5 days), dry mouth, no fever, no rash.
Fingers crossed!!
You NEVER had an exposure and a 4 week test would not tell you anything anyway. Dont waste your money or your time, just move on with life.
Thanks man. For my own peace of mind I'll go test tomorrow and next week (4th week) just in case there indeed was a condom-less exposure anyway.
Will keep you all posted!
You never had an exposure.
My nerves are back, I'm starting to worry again this morning.. I have a dull ache in my right armpit and in my groin. My mouth is ever so dry (woke up smelling bad) and I think my nodes are swollen :(
I really need to know: how reliable will my rapid test be at 3 weeks??
Thanks everybody, freaking out a lil here
Thanks all.
I've just about convinced myself that it's all in my head, and that the diarrhea etc is a result of anxiety. I also suspect that my raised meatus is due to my incessant checking/prodding of the area.
But! Will still getvtested come Wednesday (day 21) I've read that at 21 days, results are 80% accurate, thoughts? I just want to put this ordeal behind me
Thanks again you guys, I will continue be active on this forum, its taught me so much!
if you were able to adequately remember not takign the condom off during intercourse, then you should be fine HIV wise, however i recommend waiting till 3 - 6 months after the time of intercourse before retesting (just to make absolutely certain)
as for the possibility of having herpes, i would suggest going to see your GP or your family planning clinic and get it checked, in the meantime, refrain from unprotected sex (which you should do all the time anyways without full knowledge of the persons medical history and relationships).
Good Luck,
Merry Christmas
Unprotected oral sex is no risk for HIV. You don't need to test.
Symptoms are very poor indicators of HIV. Symptoms doesn't mean anything when it comes to HIV.
You were not at risk for HIV.
For STD concerns, it would be best if you post your question in STD forum.
