Ab/Ag test

Hi ,
I heard that in ab/ag duo test the antigen   gets detectable immediately after exposure from 2 to 4 weeks only and after that ag is untraceable. so if anyone takes a test at 6th or 7th week and havent yet generated antibodies then the test will anyhow retuen negative right? It wont be much effective ?

Just read in a forum and wanted to ask u ppl.

No it isn't right. The antibody part of the test will be effective. Why are you talking about testing, you've never had an exposure.

So some say the ab/ag test at six week.is encouraging and some may even conclude after six weeks. If this test is effective only at early onset and after 3 months then this test is of no use at 6 or 7 th week .is that right?

A DUO test can detect in the early onset of HIV infection, but it doesn't always. Reason for the 3 months conclusive test guideline.
