can you explain this?

Scintigraphic Findings: Evaluation of raw data showed no significant motion artifact. Gated SPECT analysis showed well preserved global function with ejection fraction 72%. No regional abnormality. Perfusion analysis showed no evidence for infarct or ischemia with high fixed basal septal defect seen which was presumably artifactual and not in a clear anatomic distribution.

Thanks :)

Basically, your heart function is normal although there was a fixed area in the septal wall between your lower chambers that shows up as being a defect determined to be an artifact or an irregularity in the image. It could be a distortion in the image or an old MI. Given the fact that your heart function is very, very good, it's most likely an image issue as there was no evidence of an infarct (heart attack) or ischemia (blockage).

I think you have an excellent result, if your doctor didn't mention I wouldn't worry about it. You can always ask them which is always a good idea. I always have my doctors explain the tests reports to me.

Good luck,

Jon
