I am a Vet so this Thallium stress test was performed at the VA. Test get posted quickly online but follow up by a doctor can take weeks. These results were just post and I'm trying to figure out if should be relieved or more worried. Any input would be appreciated.
The posted results are as follows:
"Exercise stress and rest myocardial perfusion SPECT
showed no areas of abnormal perfusion which indicate the presence
of myocardial ischemia, infarction, or hibernation. There is an
area of decreased activity involving the inferior region of the
left myocardium on both rest and stress images, worse at rest,
more likely related to diaphragm attenuation artifact.
The extracardiac distribution of radioactivity was normal.
Left ventricular volumes, left ventricular ejection fraction, and
regional wall motion could not be evaluated due to the presence
of a cardiac arrhythmia.
Impression:
Exercise stress myocardial perfusion SPECT scan at 105% MPHR
shows no evidence of myocardial ischemia, infarction, or
hibernation, as described above."
as background, I am 69 and normally considered to be in good shape except that I have back surgery scheduled in 2 months for severe lumbar stenosis. I bike 50- 100 miles a week and have a resting heart between 45-50.
Thanks for any input,
