Chest pain after swimming

   Hello doctors!!!
My question is that : I am a lazy boy at the aged of 21. I don't do a lot of exercise. Three weeks ago i went swimming and i swam a lot, about 2 hours per day, and 3 or 4 days per week. Each day I tried my best to swim.
But after someday, in the evening my left chest hurt especially when I had a deep breath(I mean inside my body not the skin). This only happen in 15 minutes. then everything was ok again. But from 2 days ago, I haven't do any exercises and I feel a little bit of hurt and being hard when I breath all the day.
Could you tell me which hell I am suffering, please? And the treatment, of course.
I want to receive your advice soon.
   Thanks.

Hello everyone. I am a boy aged 13 and I also have chest pains every time I swim. I think this is related to my breathing habit when swimming or maybe lung function bad. But I know a cure to it. Every time when you were in chest pains, try to lay down. If you have hiccups when having chest pains, try a 100% effective cure: Inhale thought your mouth, swallow your saliva 2 times and exhale slowly through your mouth. If you want to cough, then cough as hard as you can, because it can relax your chest, last time I am sick, the sick symptom is coughing and after I cough hardly my chest instantly felt relaxed. So this is all for you guys today, you guys can contact with me at my email - tjy.***@**** .

Do you have any lightheadedness, or graying out of your vision when you do heavy exercise?  Do you have any stabbing pain, and if you do where you feel it?  How long does it last?

I was a lifeguard and swim instructor "back in the day" and spent a lot of time swimming.  Certain things are muscular in nature, other pain is related to other problems.  Problems in young people are rare, however they do happen.  The key is identify when they are happening, and what causes it.  Good luck and don't be scared.

Hello! So today I went swimming for about 2 hours or so. In those 2 hours at one point I had chest pains whenever I took a deep breath but I let it slide because it was not bad pain. Then I went on the water slide, and as soon as I got up from the water it was like horrible....... I started to cough like crazy.  I had so much pain when I would try to breathe. It was also hard to talk at the time bc whenever I would try to clear my throat it would hurt. Also, when I was coughing it felt like I could not breathe at all and that I was gonna throw up..... But when I went in the change rooms about 5 min later I got Allie better but it still hurt to breathe......now I don't know if it was because I was in a chlorine pool, or maybe too much in the water....

Then it's probably time to see your doctor. Heart problems in someone your age are rare but they do happen. Your symptoms don't sound like a heart attack but since you're in pain, it's best to have to checked. Take care.

Thanks. But I don't feel hurt when I raise my arm or twist my body. I have googled the word "chest pain " in my language and it was so terrible. It was all about heart attack signs. I am so worried!!!

You're so cute. I don't think you're a "lazy boy." You just enjoy hanging around as many of us do. But good for you to start doing some activity to stay healthy. It does sound like you started out doing too much at the beginning and you may have pulled some muscles in the chest or strained some cartilage around the ribs. Does it also hurt when you raise your arm or twist your body?

Take it a little easier for now and work up to longer swimming times. If you're very worried, it's always best to see your doctor.
