I recently had a CT Scan that found that "significant calcifications noted". I immediately went to see my GP and he recommended that I have a nuclear stress test. This test suggested a minor disruption of blood flow in one of my arteries. I also paid out of pocket to have a calcium scoring test and the results were alarming. One ventricle had a score of 552 and total score of 752. I was then referred to a cardiologist who recommended a heart cath procedure to take a look inside arteries. The results indicated 30% blockage in left decending ventricle, 20% in another artery nearby, 10-20% in large dominant RCA. The post diagnosis was mild CAD. My cardiologist seemed quite pleased by the findings. I am so confused by the differences of all these tests. I am almost 70years old, my blood pressure is very good (lisinipro helps), lipid scores are excellent (simvastatin helps), I exercise and attempting to eat healthier. My dad died of CAD in his mid seventies. Any advice would be helpful.
