D/C Prozac Problems

I have been on Prozac  since 1994. I don't think I needed it when I went on it but it was prescribed. No one has questioned it since. I have tried to discontinue it twice by slowing cutting it down over a period of 3 months the last time I supplemented with L-trytophan. I was doing fine the last time at the 2 1/2 month mark when I developed episodes of very slow heart rate to the point of almost passing out while sitting like the first time. I became alarmed and went back on the Prozac - symptoms disappeared. I want to get off the drug - Any suggestions?
