Has your doctor planned other tests to find out the cause of this mildly impaired function of your heart?
Kevin,
Have you had any answers to what your results mean? I also had a result of ef being 45-50% and I am conceded as to what this means for me. I do not see my doctor until the end of the month and I am struggling to understand.
Hi there. A question, do you have high Blood Pressure or did you have it before? How is your blood sugar & your Kidney function? Regarding your results, the EF is the ejection fraction. The normal rate is about 55% - 65%. Yours is slightly low but not too bad. The Hypokinetic walls indicate that the heart may not be working efficiently at 100% for some reason. Remember its only mild and also the Valves are ok which is good too. I asked about High BP because over time it can cause the lowering of EF. I had a hypertensive crisis 2 years ago. I basically ignored my BP for ages till it went mad . At that stage it was over 250 mmhg Systolic! and my EF was below 20%. Once the BP was sorted, it gradually improved and is 45% now. You have probably had the daily exercise lecture by now? Hope this is of some help to you, keep us posted
