Could be the meds causing the problem. I had a HDL of 145 before taking a beta-blocker. After taking the beta-blocker, my HDL shot up to 210!!!

Crazy that a heart med raises cholesterol but it does.....I now take Dr. Strauss Heart Drops now it's coming back down nicely.

May you and your husband be Blessed.

My triglycerides were still at 925 last month.  At one point 2 years ago they were over 2100.  In my case it's a genetic thing.  2 of my brothers have the same problem.  I now take my meds which are Tricor and Pravastatin.  But in addition to those I take 500mg of Niacin in the morning and again in the evening.  He needs to get that number down because I have had multiple heart attacks from the plaque in my blood. And that comes from the high levels of triglycerides in the blood.  That is the fat that causes the plaque to form. The Niacin is a good supplement in treating this.  Take care, Ally
