Hello, I can try and help with your question:
A thickened valve can be congenital defect? and because the valve is a bit abnormal it does not work properly and then let blood flow back and that is called regurg. Some people can live a long and full life with a defect like this and you need to just get it checked annually (echo done) to make sure that the regurg does not get to bad and that your heart doesn't enlarge or cause heart failure. When heart damage steps in, then they would need to replace your valve.
In other words: there is no medication for the valve problem but the symptoms can be treated with medication.
Hope it helps :)
