How do I know when skipped heart beats are dangerous?

Over a week ago for absolutely no identifiable reason my heart started skipping way more beats than usual.  I can go hours with none and then have several hours where I'll have 2 or 3 a minute.  It's setting me over the edge.  I don't know if it's dangerous or not.  I went to the ER the other day and they basically didn't care at all and just had me take Ativan and sent me home.  Today I panicked and called the paramedics who came and did a 12 lead and they said normal sinus with one ectopic and so I didn't go back to the ER.  I had a normal echo 3 years ago.  I already don't eat caffeine or sugar.

Please reassure or sympathize with me.  I'm going insane and have no idea what's causing this out of the blue.  Why would they suddenly increase for no reason whatsoever?

I don't want to offer false hope, but I seem to be cured, and I would feel silly not to suggest this as a fix, because it is free, risk free, and trouble free.

I have had a skipping heart for over 2 years. Several episodes every day, without fail, 5-15 minutes usually where every 10th to every 3rd beat is missing. I know the details on my problem because I also have tinnitus, and I have been able to hear my heart beat, for the last 15 years or so. Like many others here, I was concerned, even though several doctors were unconcerned, and it did cause a little extra stress. But now, I am cured. For two weeks, not one skip. If you are interested it is easy to try.

I am 70+ and retired, and my routine changes little. Two weeks ago after I finished brushing my teeth, quietly checking for new wrinkles, I heard a very faint drain gurgle from the tub next to the wash basin. This tub is very rarely used (years between uses) and I immediately deduced that the water in the drain trap had evaporated, and I was hearing sewer activity through the open drain. I had no idea how long this condition had existed, because the noise was very faint, but I did not like the idea of breathing sewer gas. I took  my rinse glass, and poured several glasses of water in the tub drain.

I cant be sure that this  was the cause of my cure, and I certainly did not make a note of which day I poured the water, or which day the skipping stopped. but there was only a few days difference. I exercise the same amount 3 days per week, I eat the same amount of similar meals every day, I have one martini and one wine every day. Nothing that I can think of in my life has changed, except pouring that water down the unused tub drain. That and the fact that my heart no longer skips.

So, if you have heart beat irregularities, and you have a very seldom used tub or sink drain from which the water may have evaporated. Dump a couple of glasses of water down it, and see if you get a change. (keeping your fingers crossed) If you get cured, even an improvement, let me know. It would make my day to have helped with this problem.

Hi, I have the same issue.  What did you doctor say?  Were you ever able to resume weight lifting or higher intensity exercise?
