warfarin and uterine fibroids

My sister is 45 years old and had a St. Judes valve put in five years ago.  She has been on warfarin and monitors it regularly.  She also has past history endometriosis and has always had heavy periods and problems with her periods.  She also has uterine fibroids that have been giving her problems, even more so since the warfarin.  Between the uterine fibroids and the warfarin, her menses are extremely heavy.  She is on iron because she tends to be anemic around her period.  Her periods are so heavy that she can go through 4-6 large pads an hour, sometimes more.  She feels like she is going to bleed to death at times and it scares her.  Her periods can also last almost two weeks with these heavy days lasting 2-3 days and sometimes another heavy day during the end.  She is wondering if it is best she get a hysterectomy because the fibroids do not seem to be going away and the fear of bleeding to death during her period is always there.   Her cardiologist does not want her going off the warfarin for any reason, but these periods are getting intolerable.  Do you know if there are any easier, less invasive hysterectomies available for people in this situation?

I am 47 years old & have been on Warfarin since my mitral valve replacement last April (2017). My periods used to be regular (every 26 days), lasted only 3-4 days & were not very heavy.

In the past 5 months, maybe because the Warfarin kicked in, my periods became unbearably long (between 10- 13 dats), extremely heavy (I need to wear 4 Super pads & change every 2 hours) & irregular pattern (sometimes 2, 3 or 4 weeks between cycles).

I've become anaemic, bloating & heavy in the tummy & very very tired all the time!

As I don't really want to do a Hysterectomy, my Gyno suggests I have a Mirena (T shaped object) surgically inserted into my uterus. This may cause excessive bleeding in the first few months, but should then settle & the blood flow should lessen dramatically. This lasts for 5 years & U can do it again if I still have my period then.

If this fails, my only option is a Hysterectomy - but I'm apprehensive about this as I know the risks are greater & I will have issues with hormones!
