A persons colour after heart rupture:

Because I have so many questions regarding my husband's death some I feel require some serious answers, I've decided to stick to one question at a time.
I've heard that a  person goes blue with a ruptured heart. My husbands heart ruptured yet his colour was completely normal and in fact looked no different to his usual self. I was by his side in the ambulance which took him straight to the hospital mortury and thus could clearly notice his colouring. One thing I will say is that his post mortum revealed also a chronic heart condition prior to his death.
Hope you can help me with this question and others.
Many thanks

Thank you for your understanding and concern. So sorry abut your dear wife. It  was 6 weeks before my dear husbands funeral so that family on holiday could return and attend. 5 weeks after his death the right side of his neck had suddenly overnight came out like a very large balloon. Also around the same time his lovely eyes couldnt be seen they were sunk upwrds in his head, Regarding the bulge on his neck, I dont like saying this but it looked like something huge was stuffed inside it. Nobody seemed to know why. The fact he i dont know makes things even more difficult for me especially as other unpleasant anomolies also occured which dont add up.  . Its been a very dark valley for me and a wilderness experience that sometimes overwhelmed me..After about half an hour of arriving at the church I saw him collapsed on the floor gasping for his breath. Then after two church members stepped in and tried to resusitate him began to have blood heavily pouring through his mouth . I have flash backs but am trying to keep strong with Gods help. Thank you for your words that when bleeding a person goes unconscious and feels nothing. This is great comfort and appreciated.

Just realised I made a typo. The lungs would have to be virtually none functioning to prevent gas exchange.

That's correct. A severe bleed out would lower blood pressure very quickly indeed, causing immediate unconsciousness. No discomfort, no time to feel fear or panic, just peace. For the blue colour to be in effect, you need most of the oxygen to be replaced with carbon dioxide. This means that the heart would need to pump and the lungs would need to work. Again, sorry about your loss and I understand why you have so many questions. I was the exact same when I lost my wife last year.

I can only speculate that each of your husbands passed away so quickly that they did not even have time to turn blue from lack of oxygen.  It sounds like death came more or less instantaneously.  Once the rupture occurred,  that was it.  After that point, the body did not struggle, because life had ended.  It is when the body is still fighting to survive for a prolonged period without adequate oxygen that the skin turns blue.  I'm so sorry for your respective losses, and I hope my explanation isn't too blunt.  I'm not a doctor, but that's what makes sense to me, FWIW.
