wire holding sternum together broken

I have had by-pass surgery years ago and have been recently advised by my doctor that the wire holding my sternum together was broken.  Does anybody have any advise on what I should do at this point.  Are there any dangers with this status and does and what are my options?

Hello and hope you are doing well.

The wire can get broken years after surgery due to remodelling of the bone. If it is not causing pain or is not sticking out, usually nothing further needs to be done. You could consult your surgeon to confirm this.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Unless it is causing a problem I don't think you need to be concerned.
