Just a question i wanted to ask?

May i ask what causes enlarged hearts, and if your grand mother(on mothers side), father and brother have enlarged hearts what is my percentage of possible getting one. my dad also has CHF and i know heart diseases run on my dad's side of the family bad !

Also when i was born , i was born 3 months early and had PDA, heart murmurs and some problems with the lungs granted i know due to being born that early ,but will it ever effect me now or when i get older ? and because heart problems run in my family and pretty close to home ide say is my chances greater than normal ??

my dad was diag. with it i think around the age of 47 , and my brother was diag with an enlarged heart at age 34 he is now 35 , i am 34  yrs old

There wouldn't be any genetic link with probility enhanced for you based on a sibling's genetic status.  Each sibling would have an independant probabiltiy evidenced as one sibling has blue eyes the other brown, tall or short, healthy or unhealthy, etc.

Take care,
Ken

Your welcome and thanks for your answer . But i kinda figured with a parent having something  its a 50/50 chance thats a given lol  ... I was simply asking are my chances greater than 50% because of now my brother having it or is it the same ?

I am having a few issues which i posted on another forum , if u would like to go check it out .its in the CHF  forums . again thank you for your answers ...

If one parent has a dominant genetic predisposition for a medical problem, the odds are 50%.
Thanks for your question.  Take care,
