Calcium Channel blockers again

Does anyone know if these affect your teeth?  Since taking these I've had 2 molars crumble away and all my other
teeth are now very sensitive.

It's my understanding that these do.  Do a google search on calcium channel blockers and dental decay.  It brings up a lot of info on this subject.  Sorry about the dental problems.  Take care, Ally

I wonder if taking magnesium, vitamin D and calcium help with this though. Or, does it affect the outcome of treatment? In other words, hinder the help we are suppose to get with the CCBs. I take alot of herbal medicines and vitamins.

Thank you so much for your inputs, I will be asking my Doctor a few questions on Friday. I will let you know the outcome.

I don't take a Calcium Channel Blocker, Ed.  However, I'm having quite a problem with my teeth.  The enamel is being eroded way of several teeth.  I'm quite active with teeth cleaning for several reasons, and go in three times a year.  Within a 3.5 month period, enamel was stripped away of several teeth on my right side of my mouth.  The hygenist worked hard to figure out my problem, and it was determined that since my GERD  was worse, acid reflux could be the problem.  I went to a specialist and it was determined stomach acid was destroying my teeth, she was right on.  My vocal chords have also been burned out, when talk I sound like Kim Karnes singing 'Betty Davis Eyes'.

Since that, I'm on a more potent acid reliever, and also using acid-reducing tooth paste and spray.

Just a thought.

Blast! I didn't know this either. All I read was that I'm supposed to tell the dentist that I take a CCB. Didn't say why though. Is it just one type of CCB or all of them in general? I have Diltiazem. The good news/bad news is that I'm terrible about taking the blasted pills. Drives my heart crazy but at least I won't be gumming my food to death.

I didn't realize this either and I seem to be having more and more teeth chip, have enamel flake off and more dental decay than I had experienced over the previous 20 years. Just marvelous, also looking into link with kidney stone formation.

great :(  I see what you mean. I've stopped the medication and have an appointment with my Doctor on Friday afternoon. I just hope this will save the rest of my teeth. It really annoys me though, my Doctor didn't say I may start to lose my teeth and there was no warning on the packaging. I wonder if it has had any effects on my bone density. Right, I think I will close my mind on this til friday before I go into anxiety overload.
