Well doctors were hearing a "click" when listening to my heart, thats why i had the echo, but the cardiologist who performed the echo when asked, he said, no you don't have mvp. I have some palpitations
Your technical detail is too much for me without me doing some research.
Why do you ask about a 10 year old echcardio now? Do you have some heart symptoms that make you look back? Your doctor must have had a reason to prescribe the echo, what were his conclusions?
The most common mitral valve symptom is MPV, Mitral Valve Prolapse - you can look it up,, or regurgitation which I translate to leakage back from the left ventricle to the left atrium. In both cases most are "minor" and do not demand any corrective surgery as that surgery is considers (an surgery in my thinking) to have too much risk for a "minor" valve problem. I have myself undergone open heart surgery to repair my mitral valve, driven by the fact the leakage was bad enough to cause heart enlargement. All went well and the "echo" has confirmed my heart is no longer undergoing enlargement.
My values in a 10 year old echo are:
E: 0.97msec A: 0.70msec E/A:1.39
