Variable pulse 38 to70 with pacemaker installed

83 years of age, pacemaker installed late 2002 no problems until recently after heavy gardening work.

Feeling groggy and heart monitor shows normal for Blood Pressure but pulse rate varies continually over very short periods of time from 38 to 70 plus.  Manual pulse reading ...I can feel the rate varying/hesitating.

This over past few days.

Advice greatly appreciated.

Regards standby 954

I hope someone of the posters with medical knowledge will respond to you soon......better yet I hope you have already called your doc.......remember they know when they get into this business that they have to respond on holidays

I'm  85 and I just recently did a little gardening ( just tried to dig a few bulbs)......and broke a vertebra in my back........so,..........take it from me.........give up on the "heavy gardening".

I don't have a pace maker, but have quite erratic arrythmias, and if my pulso started doing what you describe I would be on the phone dialing that emergency number on the recording.

how low is your monitor set for? can you call your pacemaker in before your next scheduled time? I don't know much yet about them we think our 4 year old will be getting his next week and they said something about setting it as low as a certain number and as high as a certain number and it should go over/under those number. they mentioned that wach omnth we need to call in hid pacemaker to ensure it is working properly. can you call it in at anytime. if you can I would try that first to ensure that it is properly working. if it your numbers are lower/higer then what it is set for I would give your cardilologist a jingle too see what he/she ahs to saay.
good luck
