repeating ECG and echo will not be necessary if it is only hypertension that you suffer from.
Blood pressure is best measured several times during a few days to get a good impression of the "average" values for systolic and diastolic phase.
If you suffer from "white coat"-effect, it is best to measure at home.
If it appears to be too high, you will be put on medication, probably for the rest of your life.
No need to worry. Thickening of the heart muscle is often reversible when the cause (hypertension) is taken away.
Many people take bp lowering medication without any problems/side effects.
