aortic reguritation

I have aortic reguritation and have been having increased symptoms. I've been having artial fib and my heart beat is 105. The fib always happens when I lay on my left side but also happen for no reason...can be sitting when watching tv. I feel like I have been running a marathon. I recently had chest pain in the middle of my chest. When my heart is racing I feel out of breath. When I lay down it feel like there is something blocking my airway and begin to breath fast. I tire quickly and yet can't sleep at night. When  I get up at night and lay back down I can hear wheezing when I exhale. Do I need to be concerned?

It sounds to me you developed pulmonary edema severe sudden breathlessness at night etc as you described: “something blocking my airway and begin to breath fast”…I experienced the same, few days after it felt something was blocking and I couldn’t breathe not fast not slow not at all, then finally I went to the doctor because I was in panic. They started the testing. I was in severe heart failure. Pulmonary edema is usually caused by heart failure. As the heart fails, pressure in the veins going through the lungs starts to rise.
You need an attention right away. I don’t know from where you are, in Canada this is the way what we do and that is normal here, so my suggestion is visit the emergency department today! Do not delay it!

Hi there,

When was your last echo?  Was the A-fib diagnosed during an ECG?

Shortness of breath, fluid retention, wet lungs, fatigue and chest pains are all alarm signals.

Are you on a beta blocker or any other heart medication?
