Hi
Yes I'm in hertfordshire. My Doctor didn't question my request. If there is family history then there should be no question about being checked. This is the biggest killer disease and you want your children to have a head start.
Hi
Thanks very much indeed for both comments.
Are you in the UK?
Did your GP fund it? I'm not sure mine would, so if not, did you go private?
Best wishes

Ed is right, what could it hurt? Small changes now will pay large dividends in a few years.

I would certainly have any children over 18 checked. It could save them a lot of problems for their futures. Below 18 isn't really worth it because their hormones are all over the place and the body is almost always out of balance somewhere. I had cholesterol of 9.7 and with Lipitor it hovers around 4.2 now. I had my 18 year old son checked and his is 4.6 so he doesn't have my FH.
