The usual cocktail of beta blockers, ACE inhibitors and diuretics etc is said to optimise life expectancy, but I have found my systolic bp averaging 100 mms or less to be insufficient. What is the range of optimum tolerated bp, How many do not tolerate even a low dose of beta blocker and does it matter that much if this is discontinued providing bp, pulse and heart rhythm are still controlled, or should the ACE inhibitor be reduced or stopped first?
