please help

For a while now i have been getting these heart palpitations that are very strange. It seems my heart will have a quick extra beat and then a very short pause and all of a sudden a hard thump, but sometimes (especially in the morning) i will get the extra beat and pause but it will seem like a long pause which will cause me to panic and my heart to start racing. It feels like a longer pause but i can still feel my heart flip flopping followed by another skipped beat and then my heart will go back to normal. Every time this happens i get so scared i will pass out or die but i never have before, can anyone help me please?

Have you taken your worries to a Cardiologist or an Electro-Physicist? It would be good if you could eliminate harmful Palps and hopefully they are what are called PACs or PVC's, which are pretty much harmless.  There are other hear beat issues that are very serious, I have one called A-Fib.  Keep us informed, but you must see a specialist.

I have gone to a cardiologist, have had an ekg, and a stress echo done. All came back perfect, my doctor tells me it is just anxiety and tells me there is no need for further tests. I just get so scared when these palps happen especially when I'm walking or running because it seems like my heart takes about 5-10 minutes to "thump" and start beating regularly again.

Since you've been well tested, the most likely thing is that you're having benign 'ectopic' beats.  Everyone gets these, but not everyone feels them--just us delicate flowers.

Under about 10,000 per day, in a normal heart, they truly are harmless, but they are annoying or scary, and they pretty much cannot be 'cured.'  Once we start having them, they tend to either hang around and recur.  They become part of our lives.

So, what to do?  In your case, you need to learn more about how the heart works.  If you can do that, you will understand that your heart is beating absolutely reliably in spite of these irregular thumps that you feel.  It is not stopping, but is merely having the hiccups.  You are not going to die, or probably not even pass out (except that fear can cause people to faint).  If you can calm down somehow, you will even observe that the irregular beats do not physically prevent you from doing everything you normally do.  The only obstacle to normal activity is the fright caused by heightened awareness of the heartbeat.

Counselors and especially psychiatrists can help people who are terrified by PVCs and other benign ectopic beats.  I know about this from experience.
