Hopefully your experience will be milder than Tom's.
My experience is no after effects. I had to look real hard to even see where the catheter was inserted. Maybe my Cardiologist's are artists. I had different doctors for each of the two I have undergone.
I know the second one was done as I never lost consciousnesses and did feel some "discomfort" during the exam. I was completely out on the first one and didn't feel a thing. Its been a few years but I'm sure I prefer the completely out method.
When I commented to the nurse about not being out she said something like: "with all your experience you soon be able to do it yourself. Ha, she'd nat about to criticize the doctor... not sure I don't recall an anesthesiologist which may mean the doctor is limited to a "relaxant" only. I don't know.
Perfectly normal. Mine was the diameter of an orange, and raised up. It's not unusual for a hematoma to develop immediately after the procedure, whereuponit breaks and drains into the thigh leaving an ugly buries that lasts for months. You may also experience a limp and pain when walking; all perfectly normal.
