I hated those nights!!!!
CoQ10 is useless for PVCs, IMHO.
Here's what I learned to try for mine.
I would take 2 tbs of Maalox extra strength. The mag in that is very absorbable. I swear it actually helped me. I got the idea from from reading boards about what helped people.
I would also take a hot bath. If it was so bad that I couldn't sleep I would fill the tub up with water and just sit in it. You can also add epsom salts for even more magnesium.
Another thing I learned from mine is that if I layed on my stomach it would sometimes help. At first they would seem to get worse. But sometimes this seemed to help make them stop.
Another idea is to take a calcium supplement too. I've read that mag and ca should be taken together. What I ended up doing for mine is that I take the Mg regularly. When I start to act up I'll take a ca supp as-needed but I try to stay away from Ca because too much of Ca can trigger more arrhythmias.
I HATE PVCs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WTF I wish they would study this issue and figure it out.
Eventaully it stopped altogether for me. Right around 7 or 8 months things started to slowly improve. I'd start to get light nights here and there and it just kept heading in the right direction. I still get PVCs here and there. Just had a big thumper about 5 minutes ago after not having any in quite some time.
Thanks for the ideas. It seems like every time I have a really active day I pay for it later. I'm a 41 yr old active guy, and it's really depressing. I wish I could get out of this PVC cycle once and for all.
Hi, for me I started taking Q10 & magnesium tablets ,and I thought it made my palps worse. I dont know if it was the Q10 or the mag tablets, but I stopped taking them and they stopped after they got out of my system. I would try not taking them for awhile and see if they stop.I have atrial tach & afib. On occasion I'll get palps that can last for days or weeks.I know how annoying they can be.I'll be fine all day and then as soon as I lay down I start getting palps.I dont get it!! Im also on a low dose of atenolol 50mg daily . Which now Ive cut down to 25mg because Im getting a cryoablation this month. I really havent had any issues in a couple of weeks ,which is great.
You'll have to let me know how your ablation goes, I would be interested in the outcome.
My PVCs probably aren't bad enough for an ablation, but bad enough to make my nights miserable.
Yep...those are the worst...mine are always worse in the evenings and at night. I take a beta blocker and they are still bad. If they are really, really unbearable, I will take half of a xanax. I got in a wreck last week, and I was fine during the entire ordeal...that evening was horrible! I can work, work, work all day and will suffer for it everytime at night, which makes me exhausted the next day. If my husband and I go dancing....I am miserable the next day...PVC's all day long. I too wish someone would find a way to help us PVC sufferers.
hi there
I get pvc's during the day but mostly at night - especially when I am lying down going to sleep. Can be quite disturbing. I've worn a holter monitor which picked up around 380 in a 24hour period but I remember that to be a quiet day - sometimes they are much worse.
I am sure you have tried this but sometimes I cough hard and it can set things straight. I try not to worry about them (pvcs feel worrying!). Had them for about 5 years.
hope this helps!
Hi, i just found this site, having the same problem mostly at night. I see this is from a while back, how are you doing ?
thx Joe
