Cause of Mulitifocal PVC's

I am very concerned for my spouse. A couple of years ago he was diagnosed with a 40% loss or weaking of the heart muscle. We have done so many tests, and at best they say a virus attacked the heart and that is why he has this problem. Nothing they can do for him. He is now 42, non smoker for about 5 years now. He has spells of sweating and passing out. Very tired and is now starting to have other issues such as headaches, joint and inflamation issues. Too much too type. His Heart dr. says he can not really tell us anything. They give him Coreg, and asprin. He has no blockages and other then then the weakness the heart is clean. Better then most. We have 4 children, 2 are very young still. We wantto know what caused this weakness, or could have contributed to it so that we can further investigate it. If it was from his service time, or a job, something to go on. We want to know why? What we can do? Where we can go to find help. I am afraid he will not be able to provide for his family anymore, that will kill him in itself. He is a hard worker and lives to provide for his kids. We love him and want him to be with us for a long time. The dr. promises nothing. Please give a place to start. Thank you so much! The Patterson Clan

I agree with Momto3.  I would get another opinion asap.  Why is he on Aspirin if he does not have CAD?  He should be on a beta blocker, which he is, plus an ACEI at the minimum.  You possibly will never find out the cause, but the treatment would be the same regardless.  A 40% EF is not terrible by any means, BUT he should not be passing out ever.  When was his last echo?  Your doctor leaves a lot to be desired if he says there is nothing he can do!  Good luck and keep us posted.

Has he been seen by a heart failure specialist and/or an electrophysiologist?  Perhaps a second and/or third opinion would be helpful.
