Hard Beat at Apex

Not a question, just need to vent. Lately, when I go to bed, the beat is so hard at my apex, it makes me nauseous. My HR is in the high 60's low 70's, which is excellent for my speedy heart, but geez...I seriously cannot go a full day without feeling something with my heart. It feels like it wants to start racing, but at the apex. I also feel short of breath and am having hot flashes...not to mention the standard PVC's that run one after another. I'm soooo tired of feeling all this mess and being told the same thing over and over. I don't wish these on anyone, but I do wish one doctor would feel a minute of what I feel in a day to understand what I am really describing.

I get what you are saying.  I do have to say I am one of the more lucky ones.  I do have ectopics everyday but they seem to be less intense now 10 months after my svt ablation but I do still have days/periods where they ramp up.  I will have beats that catch my breath, make me cough and some of them down right hurt in a couple of spots but for the most part they aren't making me sick beyond feeling a bit tired or getting a bit of a headache on days there are a lot of them but I am lucky in that they don't make me super sick.  They are just more annoying and distracting on some days.  They can be hard to just ignore.  Have you tried beta blockers for your symptoms?  I know if you tend to low bp then it might cause more troubling symptoms but I have heard that beta blockers can help them feel better.  Well my best to you.  I do hope you find some relief from these some day.  (((Hugs)))  Michelle

Thanks for commenting Jerry. No ablation...was told I was not a candidate. Things don't seem to bad enough on paper, although he told me he was shocked that I could feel and had symtptoms of either a hot flash, or dizziness, or shortness of breath with every misfire that showed on the monitors. That should at least tell them that even if they aren't going to "hurt" me, they make me feel really crummy. I would love to have my quality of life back. I don't care how my heart beats, as long as it doesn't make me sick.

Sorry to read you have to suffer on without (as I read it) any hope/forecast of improvement.

My case is different and I feel I'm in the "lucky group".  I generally do not feel anything specifically related to my heart, very rarely I'll feel an irregular beat.  But I can empathize from the perspective of being very tired of feeling tired/fatigue.  This problem is created by my age, beta and calcium channel blockers and the inefficiency of a heart in permanent atrial fibrillation.  Another bit of luck for me is this didn't become a permanent condition until I was 67 and mostly retired.  Now 73 I have been in this condition for 6 years and my doctors seem satisfied that I am alive, my heart rate is controlled and I manage anticoagulants well.

Have you tried all the cures?  Ablation?
