Best treatment for Afib

I was diagnosed with a-fib over 12 years ago, however recently while working in hot weather I suffered a VT.  It is my believe the a-fib was a contributing factor to the VT....anyone agree or experienced the same thing?  I have only had a single episode with the VT and it was over 8 months ago.  I had all the tests but no definite answer on what to do if anything.  Also it may be important to add that in 2006 I had my mitral valve repaired, but the a-fib was an issue prior to my surgery.  My doctor attempted to cure the a-fib during the mitral valve surgery by doing a maze procedure but it failed to work.

take your meds - if you have permanent AF I would guess you're on a beta blocker, and warfarin or aspirin ? Xarelto is a newer warfarin alternative but not if you have had valve problems. My wife has had AF for about 10 years and takes these meds and just lives with it.
As itdood says, just do the best you can and don't let it control your life. Don't worry about a single episode of VT, it probably won't happen again.

I think your question is "what is the best treament for a-fib"?  from what I've learned and observed there is no single best pathway to deal with it.  There are different options, as there are different causes for a-fib.  Finding the best one is sometimes trial and error.
