passing out problems

My wife for the past year and a half has been randomly passing out, when she passes out there are quite a few things she has been doing that is concerning me. She quits breathing, she opens up her eyes and just stares off and is not responsive to me, then goes back to being passed out...she talks as if the present was years ago, she spasms sometimes, she has mumbled slurred words together. There is more but I cant think of them right now, I want to take her to hospital to get checked out but she's afraid they will just put it off as something else. Can you please help me on what this could all mean?

No I am not a doctor.  This is mainly a patient board. Not too many doctors come by here though you might check a few of the other sections to see if you can find one but the symptoms sound alarming to me.

You need to take her in sooner rather than later, like tomorrow to her doctor in the minimum.  She could have a whole number of things going on with her brain or heart.  I suspect her brain but no one can diagnose her online but her symptoms sound extremely alarming to me so do talk her into going.  Call an ambulance on her the next time it happens if she refuses.  Even if it turns out to be something simple it needs to be assessed and treated.  This is not something to brush off.  Take care I wish you both well.
