PVC's and Diet

I have had severe PVC's for several months now and I am wondering if it could be my diet?  Like most of us I assume we are all searching for answers and I keep thinking it could be as simple as a chemical imbalance caused by my diet.

I have been pretty much of a vegetarian for many years, not in the strictness since, but we don't cook meet and since I retired 2 years ago I eat almost no meat at all. I do eat all my Veggies!

This morning I had very bad PVC's and instead of laying around I decided to get up and shower and go out shopping.  After making my rounds I had an incredible desire to go eat a burger and fries. This is a meal I gave up years ago, but I gave in to the temptation and stopped at a Burger King and got a "Double Meat Cheese Berger with Fries" Yum Yum! I took them home and gobbled them down! The crazy thing is my heart beat went steady and has been steady for 5 hours now! So What! Is my body craving  protein?

I am sure the cholesterol isn't good for me, however could it be that simple?

Anyone else....................

I have good news, I went back to eating meat 3 to 5 times a week and the PVC's have simply disappeared! There is no other explanation. My heart has been solid no PVC's or Tachycardia for more than two months......................

I was hoping for more comments on this topic. My regular doctor and my Cardiologist  have showed little or know interest about my diet or weight. My cholesterol is a little high and I am 6" tall medium frame and weigh 215 lbs.  I would say my ideal weight would be around 190#, so I feel I should drop 25 lbs. I think my blood pressure would come down also. I find it extremely hard to drop weight and balance nutrition at the same time. Since I turned 50 it has been very hard to keep my weight down.  I am once again on a diet and am determined to get below 200!

If I were you, I would eat cheeseburgers and fries every day for a while. If the PVC's go away, you may have found the culprit...then you will need to figure out what to do about your cholesterol. You could also try peanut butter which is a loaded with protein.

Thank you for sharing your story with us.  I had a similar experience as you Olddirtrider.

For me,  it was during a time when I was being health conscious.  I was having a few non-bothersome PVC's for a few years and I wanted to do my heart good; so,  I cut back on so-called "bad" fats, upped my so-called "good" fats, took in flax seed oil, olive oil, increased excersise, increased fiber and water intake, good quality vitamins, etc. and had been doing so for a couple of years and sticking with it pretty good too.  Nonetheless, my total cholesterol was climbing up.  It was very puzzling to me, when I just knew it would be great, so I thought.

Then, I had a root canal done.  Didn't do so good.  Prescribed 2 rounds of Clindamycin for possible infection, it messed up my tummy and wham - the PVC's went crazy 24/7 very symptomatic and bothersome, went from 130 lbs at 5ft.7in. to 111 lbs in no time.  Nonetheless, continueing my healthy diet as described above.

I REALLY began craving so-called "bad" fats, so I thought about it, and I gave in, thinking there is something that my body is needing.  I ate what I craved..... pork skins every day and at night before going to bed for months!  I can't tell ya how many bags I went through.  I ate ice cream.  I ate steak, pork, bacon, eggs, donuts...... couldn't get enough!  I reduced my exercise to "maybe" once a week if that.  I did not gain a pound through it all, believe it or not.  And whats more mind boggling, is that the PVC's greatly REDUCED during this time.  However, I was a bit nervous to go have my cholesterol checked for sure now!  But I did and the "bad" cholesterol dropped by several points and the good went UP several points.  Imagine that!

I was very reluctant to type my experience with this because its hard to believe, I know; but, its true in my case and I suppose it goes to show how people can react differently depending on what their body is needing at the time.

Well it sounds like you system might have gotten a "shock" from the abrupt change in diet.  Any sudden change can cause the heart to "act up", seems strange that in your case it settled down...as I read you post.
