Interesting enough when I went to the ER after a painful couple of PVCs....they caught one on the EKG and it said "possible PAC with aberrrant conduction" ...I have never had a PAC out of the 20,000+ I was having in Jan. but then again, I have noever felt this painful sensations until recently....so I will take a copy of that EKG to my EP on Weds. and see what he says.
I agree that knowledge can be a gift and a curse!!! Sometime I wish I was ignorrant about heart problems....maybe then, it would be easier to believe that everythings okay. I also think I am in tune too much with my body as well, and I am currently debating taking BuSpar for the anxiety, I am hestitant for fear of side effects, but hopefully I will get up the courage to just try it and see if it works!!
Thanks for the reponse!
I have PAC's and tachy (up to 160 during my sleep) and sometimes it feels like my heart is squeezing...which causes me pain. I see you are in nursing school. I believe I have always had PAC's (as many people do), but never noticed them until one day in nursing school (15 years ago), a classmate was taking my pulse and she said it was "skipping." I could not do anything but check my pulse constantly after that. My cardio has told me that if he put a monitor on 100 people, 100% of them would have some type of irregularities at some time or another. He said the majority would never feel them. I am now very symptomatic with them and I do feel I'm too "in tune" to my body resulting from anxiety over this all. I believe the anxiety makes me feel worse than any PAC I may have and causes the PAC's and tachy to become more prominant. I have always been told a little knowledge can be harmful to some, and sadly I believe I have enough knowledge to scare myself and not enough knowledge to shake these anxious feelings. I wish you the best on your health and your education!
