Please help

Doc,
I am a veteran of the Persian Gulf War. I was exposed to low levels of sarin, oil well fires, pesticides and the anthrax vaccination. 2 years ago, at age 40, I had to have a pacemaker put in. I was diagnosed with syncopy, sick sinus synrdome and dilated cardiomyopathy. I am trying to start a claim with the VA due to this. Is there any information you could give me on my diagnosis and my time in the Gulf.
Thank you
Nick

Sorry to read of your heart problem, especially at your young age.  And than you for your service to our country.

I have read many of the post on this forum and have never (or I don't recall) ever reading anything about anthrax and heart rhythm problems.  Doing a general search on that subject may get you some results, also searching on filing claims with the VA could provide more help.

You may want to start by using the search on MedHelp.

Good luck.

I am not a doc, I have often wondered if there were any problems with the anthrax vaccine. I was forced to get it when I was in Korea back in 1998. I have heard rumors but nothing for sure.
